Added info 13 Nov.: Many of you have been waiting for ages for my response about this listing. I am very sorry for all the delays.
The Jeep still doesn't run. I had the starter rebuilt, purchased a new battery, got a key made, and replaced an electrical relay. IT DOES TURN OVER! I am sure that it will be running fine without too much more work. I simply have no time or money to get her running, and at the rate I am going, it would be next year. Considering she is sitting out in the weather and I have no place to store her, I decided I had better list her now.
GOOD LUCK! I am sure the winner will be extremely satisfied.

Sheet metal parts that are good are windshield frame. This is a restoration project, imported from California, still retains original markings, used by the USMC then based at the USMC training camp called Camp Pendleton until sold of in 1950, then used in the mountains for hunting. comments Hotchkiss M201 Jeep 1959 Excellent Condition. The vehicle is unusual in that the original engine has been changed for a diesel engine. The records show that although the vehicle was manufactured in 1959, it was not issued to the French Army until 1962. It was later rebuilt by the French Army workshop in 1963. This is when the diesel engine was fitted.
We have all original documents proving its history. we also had a search dont by the military vehicle trust and they have verified it is an original indeavor converson in writing which we also have.

1942 Ford GPW jeep for sale. The jeep was fully restored 24 months ago by North West jeeps who are good friends of JEEPARTS UK. The jeep came from Australia where it was since the war.

The chassis was in super shape and has been totally sandblasted to bare metal and re primed and painted. Only welding was at the front bumper support. Chassis no is GPW 68752. The body was too far gone to repair so a brand new body was ordered from Jeeparts. This body is the best repro you can buy and came from the Phillipines.

All the details are exactly the same as the original Ford body and at least you dont have to worry about bodge etc. All the grab handles, bumperettes, blackout lamps, mirror and bolts were taken off the old body, sandblasted and repainted and replaced on the new one and are all F stamped inc the seats. Loads of "F" stamps. Everthing that could be reused was. New bonnet, wings, windscreen and glass. Everything recieved several coats of primer and then several coats of correct factory olive drab paint. All the gauges (except for oil pressure) are the original WW2 Stewart Warner gauges and all work perfectly. All marked up with full USA insignia of 101 Airbourne. Comes with Full canvas top and rear side screens all stencilled up. These are brand new and ain't been fitted yet. Made by Worthings canvas, the best you can get.

Wheels are the original ww2 COMBAT rims and are in superb condition. Again all sandblasted and re primered/painted.The engine is the original FORD GPW engine and was totally rebuilt with all new parts (pistons, crank, valves everthing) So the engine is brand new and still running in as its only done about 70 miles since being rebuilt. All the electrics are new and the wiring all replaced with ww2 pattern NEW wire so it looks the job. Runs 6 volts with recon generator etc etc. engine starts on the button and runs as sweet as you could want. Carb is recon CARTER carb. Gearbox again was totally rebuilt with new gears etc etc. Prop shaft, steering links, brakes, shoes, lines, hoses, EVERYTHING has been replaced with New or NOS parts. ALL NEW. All lights, blackout lights work on the switch as they should. All usual extras inc axe, shovel,MP48 aerial, First Aid tin, carbine holder, camo net and 30/50 cal pedestal gun mount.

Honestly this jeep needs to be seen to be believed and all the work is to the highest standard possible. I just never get the chance to use it. It is kept in a wooden heated garage and aint ever even been wet. It's started every 2 weeks and run to keep it good. Please note this is an ORIGINAL ww2 Jeep, not a copy, repro or Hotchkiss. If you want a jeep that looks like it is right off the production line in ww2 then this is it. Everthing is as it should be and works as it should. All original parts that were good were kept and reused.

The jeep is registered with a 6 figure no plate. Any inspection welcome. Sorry but I aint got time for timewasters or tyre kickers. Payment will need to be by cash OR cleared chq. I will help with arrangments for transport etc best I can. Please e mail ANY questions or for more photos (30 cal machine gun not inc in sale but can be negotiated for seperatley) It does however include the actual pedestal mount and full cradle and ammo box etc for it.

All newish canvas plus the usual trimmings - axe, shovel, jerrican, original siren, etc. Fitted with Panasonic face - off radio/cassette in the glove box so enjoy music as you jeep!

Underwent a sixties rebuild at Maltournee so many of the bits are WOF marked as is the chassis (ITM s/no) but is registered as a Willys. Has Kleber tyres 6.50 x 16, solex carb, professional 12v conversion and new battery. The battery sits on the front bumper in the ammo box which provides useful lockable storage space although it could be easily relocated.

Has had a complete rebuild of the gearbox and transfer case about 2500 miles ago with all new bearings, seals and new gears where required. The engine had new valves and springs at the same time as the gearbox overhaul but is starting to burn oil and could use a rebore - runs well though. Body is sound - no major rust, dents or repairs.

Also included some new and used spares inc silencer, brake shoes, bearings, various electrical items and other bits and pieces.
